5 Scarves You Must Own in Your Closet

Scarves are one of our favorite accessories, but they are very underrated. How many people do you know who throw a scarf on because it’s cold outside? A lot, right? Now, how many people do you know who wear a scarf as a fashion statement? It doesn’t happen often! If you’re looking to expand your accessories, we recommend getting a few scarves. Here are 5 of our favorites that are perfect for sprucing up your wardrobe for fall (in order of light to heavy):

  1. Women’s Black Neck Tie Scarf

This is the definition of a fashion scarf. It is a feminine take on a neck tie and I LOVE it. This would be a great accessory for work – to spruce up a plain blouse with a black A-line skirt or a pair of wide leg trousers. You can wear the scarf two ways – leave the long tie hanging or tie it up in a bow that hangs near the neck.

2. Universal Thread Striped Bandana Scarf

Scarves aren’t just for the winter time. Scarves can be made from all different types of fabric. For the warmer months, pick a lighter fabric so it doesn’t weigh you down or make you hot. I personally love tying a light scarf around my neck. It’s like adding a statement necklace to your outfit – it gives your outfit just a slight pop without being too much. If you’re wearing a printed scarf, pair it with a mono-colored t-shirt or blouse, and vice versa!

3. A New Day Heather Gray Loop Scarf

Infinity scarves are so fun and easy to wear. I personally like looping the scarf multiple times to create layers. These types of scarves add some flair to an outfit without taking over an outfit completely. Throw this on top of a long sleeve shirt and you’re good to go!

4. Sylvia Alexander Light Blue Plaid Scarf

As we head towards the second half of fall, the weather begins to cool. I love wearing big scarves during this time. They can drape decoratively over your neck and become a statement piece with your cardigan, leggings and boots. The other way to wear bigger scarves is like a wrap. Drape your scarf over your shirt and use a belt to hold it together!

5. Sylvia Alexander Oversized Printed Scarf

Last, but not least, the oversized, blanket scarf. Perfect for keeping you warm through the cold, fall months. I love these scarves because they can act as a cover-up if it gets too cold in the office. Big items can sometimes look very bulky (this especially depends on your body type), but you can easily avoid with a belt. Get an oversized scarf in a fun, bold print to make a statement wherever you go.
