DIY Outdoor Sun Station
Summer is finally here and it’s time to head outdoors and soak up as much summer sun and fun as we can. But, I need to make sure we are protected from all of the harmful sun rays and the heat as much as possible. So, whether we are playing in the yard, jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool or just playing catch, the heat can beat you down in more ways then you may be aware of. It’s always important to keep your body hydrated and skin protected and since I have two young and very active boys who love to be outside, I created a simple DIY outdoor sun station to keep everything we need on hand and at the ready so our summer fun can continue.
Creating a simple outdoor sun station is very easy. I grabbed a shepard’s hook and a metal bucket and filled it with all our sun essentials like Blue Lizard sunblock lotion, Neutrogena sunblock spray and organic deet free bug spray. I placed the shepard’s hook in a central location in the yard and filled the bucket with all our favorites and hung the filled bucket on the hook so it is easily available to apply and re-apply as needed while in the sun.
But, the sun protection doesn’t stop there! I grabbed a matching galvanized bucket and filled with beach towels, ice cold water and extra goggles to protect our eyes from the sprinkler, water slide pool. Plus, you can’t pass up extra beach balls for extra fun! Now, our skin will be protected and our bodies will be hydrated and I can keep up with the boys all summer long.
