DIY Shamrock Shake
We all love celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a Shamrock Shake, but it’s fun, easy, and at least a little better for you to make one right in the comfort of your own home.
Like any good milkshake, it starts with high-quality vanilla ice cream. We picked up a big container of Haagen Dazs Vanilla at Target. Though they won’t ship it, picking up ice cream is the perfect excuse to check out what’s new at our favorite store.
Next is milk, another perishable you’ll just have to grab in person. Such a hardship 😉 We used Horizon Organic 0%, but any milk from almond or coconut to whole will work.
Let’s get to the fun mix-ins that turn this into a Shamrock Shake. McCormick Pure Peppermint Extract adds that minty goodness without any artificial flavors. We’re junkies for mint flavored things, so we added a full teaspoon but feel free to start with ½ teaspoon.
A few drops of McCormick green food coloring makes the shake a lucky green. Once blended up, pour it into glasses and before serving, garnish with a few Maraschino Cherries, and maybe snack on a few extra. Those things are so addictive.
Before you hit up the fast food restaurant, just go to Target and stock up to make your very own Shamrock Shake. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
