How To Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Good makeup brushes are great for helping you get a great application from your makeup. It’s even more important to keep your brushes clean to extend the life of your brushes and keep germs away from your face and makeup!

Some of my favorite brushes that you can get from Target are the ELF brushes and Wet N’ Wild brushes. Let’s get into it and help you extend the life of your brushes.

Step 1: Use a mild soap to clean your brushes well. You can use a baby shampoo, I recommend using one with out and fragrances.

Step 2: Wet your brushes thoroughly. Apply the soap and massage it through the brush, run the brush under water until the water run clear and there’s no more product left in your brush. Depending on how dirty your brushes are and how far between washing them it’s been you may need to do this a few times through.

Step 3: Ring out the excess water from your brushes. And lay flat to dry. You can also grab this brush cleaning tray to help clean them really well.

The last thing I like to do is take some Alcohol 70% and dampen a cotton swab and clean and sanitize my makeup brush roll that I hold all my brushes in.

I highly recommend cleaning your brushes and sanitizing them at least once a week, if you can’t get it to it in that time frame try to go no longer than two weeks between cleaning your brushes. This will help keep the germs away from your makeup and cause less breakouts on your face as well. If you spend any amount of money on your brushes you want to make sure you take care of them well.

All done! Nice and clean and ready for your next application! When’s the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes?
