Simple Tips to Organize Beach Towels
Life is a complicated mix of much more relaxing life and much more disorganized life in the summer. Summer brings lazy, sunny days and exciting outdoor water activities. With so many outdoor summer activities, we go through seemingly thousands of beach towels each week. To keep our summers more relaxed and enjoyable, we use simple tips to organize our family beach towels. And by simple tips, we mean almost embarrassingly easy. But these tips work so well for our family that there’s no reason to be embarrassed by how easy they are.
We have over 25 beach towels in our home and go through them quickly in the summer. We used to fold and stack our towels on a shelf. But within seconds, the neat stack of towels quickly tumbled down. Of course, no one wants the towel on the top of the pile, but insists on pulling towels out of the middle of the pile…..and then run out the door rather than neatly restacking the towels. Simple Tips to Organize Beach Towels
Fold Towels
Step 1 – Fold Towels in half and in half again, until the folded towel is approximately 16 inches by 18 inches.
Roll Towels
Step 2 – Roll the towel from the side with the loose edges. Roll towards the smooth folded edge.
Step 3 – Roll the towel tightly. Place with loose edge on the bottom to hold the rolled towel together.
Stack Rolled Towels
We find that stacked rolled towels stay much neater on our shelf than stacked folded towels. It’s easy to pull a towel out of the middle of the stack by simply moving the rolled towels on top. Our towels stay much neater on our shelf and everyone still runs out the door just as quickly. (happy mom posture)
Place Beach Towels in Bin
During the busiest time of the summer, we place beach towels in a basket. This makes it even easier to find favorite towels and keep everything nicely organized. A plastic bin is also a great storage choice, especially to keep towels near the beach or pool because it the plastic will hold up to water and moisture. Using a basket or bin with handles makes it easy to carry the beach towels with you.
Place Bin by the Door
Placing the basket or bin of towels right by the door makes summer life even easier. Choosing a summery bin makes your organized towels part of your summer home decor.
