Three Times to Boldly Enjoy Coffee

If you know me, you might not believe me when I tell you I used to be a wallflower.  I was incredibly uncomfortable in social situations and almost always allowed my mom to speak for me, nodding along.  Then I made the decision to be a novelist, screenwriter, and blogger where I share some of my innermost thoughts on the internet and constantly have to sell myself to friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike.  There is no time to be shy as even one missed opportunity can change the trajectory of everything.

I had to push myself out of my comfort zone and speak up at every opportunity.  I still do this all the time.  I challenge myself to talk to new people, write out of the box things, and take chances I know years ago I would have run away from.  I do this a variety of ways and one is enjoying coffee.  I know this sounds super simple, but sometimes the simplest decisions are ones that make the biggest difference.  There are a few ways this helps inspire, motivate, and center me on days when I can’t wait to sit down and write and ones when I’d rather scrub the floor with a toothbrush (kidding, not kidding).

When I don’t have coffee in the morning, and okay, sometimes even when I do, I love it for an afternoon boost.  It hits the spot and gets me over the hump when I’m struggling with writer’s block and about to head into my workout.  Then I get a double dose of writing rhythm because I come up with my best ideas while I am working out and all those endorphins are flowing.

But my all-time favorite way to be motivated by coffee is taking a chill afternoon, watching a movie, reading, or journaling, and enjoying coffee, trying not to have a care in the world.  These are the moments when the flavor of the coffee matters most, when it’s not just about the energy boost, but about the ritual.  Taking me time when I have a bunch of other things I could be doing, is sometimes the best and helps so much in the long run.

I think all of these methods work better with 1850 Brand Coffee not just because it is flavorful and never bitter but also because back in 1850 J.A.
