Transform the IT backpack of the season with this DIY
Hello! Today we have an awesome bag DIY for you, using a backpack from Target, paint and a few pom-poms. This season we have seen accessories, women clothes and housewares adorned with pom – poms. They are all the rage and inspired by this pom – pom trend, we designed our IT backpack. Please take a peek below for a list of materials and tutorial.
IT Backpack Materials
- Mossimo backpack
- Assorted pom-poms
- Leather paint
- Fabric glue
- Assorted brushes
IT Backpack Tutorial
Step 1: We made a target run and found one small backpack perfect for our IT backpack DIY.
Step 2: Then we painted all the gold hardware with pink paint.
Step 3: We continued to paint the front of the backpack’s hardware and waited one hour in between layers of paint (2 layers.)
Step 4: The pink paint started giving our IT backpack a softer and trendier look.
Step 5: We added paint around the rectangle clasp.
Step 6: We wanted an organic shape for the background of the pink and beige pom poms.
Step 7: We glued the first layer of pom-poms with fabric glue.
Step 8: Once the beige pom-poms’ glue dried, we added pink poms starting with medium sized poms.
Step 9: Big poms gave a dramatic look to our IT bag.
Ta-da! We are beyond excited to wear our bag during our next target run! What do you think? Now you have another excuse to go to your local Target and shop away!
Happy crafting!
