What’s In Our Summer Make Up Kit

Have you ever heard of the phrase “less is more”? It is so applicable to a lot of things, especially to our makeup application during the summer time! We’ve been experiencing really beautiful yet hot sticky days, and so wearing less makeup is the way to go! But just because we wear less of it doesn’t mean we look less beautiful. Today, we will be sharing a few makeup essentials in our summer makeup kit, that we know will still give us that beautiful radiant summer glow without the grossness that comes with this hot season.

PRIMER – Using a primer is key this summer! A primer is what preps our skin for the makeup products applied later on. Having that solid base is what will help keep our makeup look fresh and flawless for at least 8 hours if not all day. Also, make sure that you pick out one that works well for your skin type. If you tend to get oily, use a mattifying primer. If your skin tends to feel dry in the summer, use a hydrating one! BB CREAM – Foundations can feel a little too heavy on the skin, especially in the summer time, so we recommend switching to a lighter alternative, which are BB creams. BB Creams help even out skin tone, cover up blemishes and also give a beautiful radiance to the skin. What’s great about face products nowadays is that most come with SPF already, so you are well protected from the sun’s harmful rays while having beautiful skin!

COLOR CORRECTOR OR CONCEALER – If you do not suffer from dark circles, consider yourself blessed because you can skip this step. But if you do, then finding a lightweight concealer is the move this summer. You don’t want your under eye area to look more tired that it already is! The best way to hide dark circles is to correct them first, then conceal! Usually, an orange or salmon color corrector does the job. Then go ahead and conceal it, and voila, you’ve got bright eyes!
